My Story
Dr. Christopher J. Thompson is the Academic Dean and a Professor of Moral Theology at The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity in St. Paul, Minnesota, part of the University of St. Thomas. He has served on the seminary’s faculty since 2006 and, after a decade as dean earlier in his career, was reappointed to lead the seminary’s academic programs, bringing deep experience in theological scholarship, teaching, and formation. In his role, Dr. Thompson oversees the seminary’s academic curriculum for both seminarians preparing for priestly ministry and lay students in graduate theology programs, helping shape rigorous theological education grounded in Catholic tradition. Beyond administration, he lectures and publishes on topics including Catholic rural life, integral ecology, and Green Thomism, and has directed institutes that foster research and dialogue on theology, law, and public policy. He also contributes to broader scholarly work through editorial roles in theological publication series and engagement with initiatives aimed at enriching Catholic intellectual life.
